| Hi all, I have not really been up to much today as my laptop is still broken so I just had a day to myself painting my nails etc. By tomorrow if my laptop is still unfixed then I think I will go out of my mind. It is so funny how things such as a laptop can have such a big affect on your life. One day you don’t have one the next you buy one and then you can’t seem to manage with out it, if it breaks then your whole life seems up side down even if it is only for a couple of days. Today if I had my laptop I would have been answering my e-mails, social and business networking, working on MyKindaVA and my day would have gone quite fast. But instead the day has dragged and I am bored out of my mind and starting to think about bedtime already . I read an interesting article about a group of people in the UK being asked to go without their internet for two weeks. Some thought that they would be ok but when it came to the end of the two weeks most of them had missed the internet for something e.g. finding out telephone details for a company and not being able to answer their e-mails. It’s funny how we miss things like this but yet don’t think about how we used to get the information before the internet was available. For example looking for a number - The old way to find a number would be looking the number up in the ‘Yellow Pages’ which is still around. Nearly everything you do in life can be done on the internet - make telephone calls, sending text messages, sending letters via e-mail, finding directions and numbers to places, holiday booking, ordering a takeaway, finding a date, shopping, finding a job and so on! |
